Late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs profoundly changed the way we interact with music online. So it makes perfect sense that the O Music Awards 2 will pay musical tribute to Jobs at its October 31 blowout. The show, which will take place in Los Angeles, will feature a special musical nod to the man behind the iPod and iTunes, with a number of up-and-coming artists performing iconic songs in homage to Jobs’ huge contribution to digital music culture.
MTV’s signature online awards show will also attempt to make it into the Guinness record books again by hosting the longest dance party in history, and there will be plenty of star wattage on hand to help celebrate should the dancers break the 55-hour barrier.

Nick Huff Barili sat down with Mac Miller for an in depth interview, this is part 2. Label mate Wiz Khalifa has Taylor Gang, Mac Miller has the Thumbs Up movement. Though he doesn’t have a name for his fans yet Mac says that it’s more important to him to spread positive vibes at all times movement. With Wiz and Mac’s careers taking off, Mac says that they don’t get to kick it and smoke as much as they use to because the are not often in the same part of the country. As the conversation continues Mac opens up about wanting to work with Pharrell, say he see himself doing a song with Waka Flocka and says he plan to release a free album in March called “Best Day Ever” featuring original production. He is not worried about signing to a major label and rather focuses on taking everything day by day.
Mac says that his is proud of the song he did with Freeway called P.A. but admits that going into it the studio he was wondering if Freeway respected him or knew what he did but that it was all love once they met.

Jewish teen rapper Mac Miller brings hip-hop to all-ages crowd in Arcata
Hip-hop artist Mac Miller turns 19 on Tuesday and has already accomplished more in the music industry than many people twice his age.
The Pittsburgh Jewish-American Miller, who was born Malcolm McCormick, has been writing and performing music since he was 15 and this week, makes his California debut with the ‘Incredibly Dope’ tour.
Miller spoke via telephone with the Tri-City Weekly while taking a break from recording tracks in a New York studio.
There’s excitement in his voice talking about his music. He sprinkles his conversation with expletives and pays respect to those who came before him. He laughs when he starts talking about “the old days” before he got started in rap music — about three years ago.
Miller’s current two-month tour is his longest run so far and his first performing on the West Coast.
