#2 December 31st/January 1st- Mac Miller Performs On MTV For “NYE in NYC”

To ring in the new year Mac Miller appeared on MTV’s “NYE In NYC”, where he did a crazy performance of “Party On 5th Ave” with his MostDope crew live on national TV. The performance recreated the music video of the track and had time square jumping! Mac also had the honor of doing the countdown to the New Year and promptly kissed his girlfriend, Nomi at the conclusion (unfortunately video of this has been removed from the internet).

#4 November – Mac Miller Receives Gold Plaques For “Donald Trump” & “Knock, Knock”

In 2012 Mac Miller’s two biggest songs ever, “Donald Trump” and “Knock, Knock” both achieved RIAA Gold certification by selling 500k singles. Both tracks were originally released for free from Mac via mixtapes which makes this feat so incredible. In late November Mac and his MostDope crew received their official plaques for the singles success. These are just the first of many plaques that Mac will receive in his future.

#6 September 5th – Mac Miller Named To Forbes “Hip-Hop Cash Kings” List

Mac Miller racked in 6.5 million dollars in just one year which placed him at #19 on the Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. This feat is so impressive because he made more money than any other independent artist and more than a lot of hip-hop veterans. Look for Mac to climb higher in that ranking in 2013!

#8 November 20th – Mac Miller Releases Jazz EP

Mac Miller is always one to push the boundaries and that is exactly what he did on November 20th. On this date Mac released a brand new EP entitled “You” under the alias Larry Lovestein. But, unlike any other project he’s ever done this was a jazz EP. This EP received mixed reviews and went on to reach the #1 spot on the iTunes Jazz charts. I’m sure this is not the last that we will hear from Larry Lovestein.

#10 March 23rd 2012 – Mac Miller Hosts “Macadelic” Listening Party For Hometown Fans

Mac Miller only released one mixtape in 2012 but it was a classic one. Prior to the release of Macadelic Mac hosted a listening party for his hometown fans at Pittsburgh’s Shadow Lounge. A couple hundred fans showed up to pack the venue where Mac played the mixtape and gave all the fans in attendance an exclusive tee shirt. It was a special moment where Mac had the opportunity to connect with some fans from home.
