Rostrum Records is bringing Pittsburgh hip-hop to the world once more as they have signed underground Pittsburgh MC, Boaz. Boaz joins the labels current roster which consists of Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Vali Porter, Donora, & TeamMate. In addition to the signing Boaz will join Mac & Wiz on their “Under The Influence Of Music” tour and serve as one of the openers along with Chevy Woods, Chiddy Bang, Schoolboy Q, and Kendrick Lamar. Here is what Boaz had to say about the signing
“It wasn’t a decision that was very hard for me given their track record of developing talented learned musicians into great artists. I’ve known the folks over there [at Rostrum] for some time and I think it is a good fit for both parties!”
Rostrum Records President Benjy Grinberg added the following:
“I’m very excited that Boaz is joining the Rostrum family. I have been a big fan of Bo and his music for many years, and I’m looking forward to working with him in a more substantial way.”
For the final day of MTV’s “Back To The Burgh With Mac Miller”, MTV talks with Mac Miller about who he thinks is next from Pittsburgh. During this feature MTV interviews Pittsburgh MC’s Franchise & Vinny Radio of The Come-Up, Kellee Maize, and Boaz. Most of the footage was captured at Pittsburgh’s historic hip-hop shop, Time Bomb Shop, while the shop owner Brick Diggler also makes an appearance in the video.
You may remember legendary Pittsburgh rapper Boaz dropped his track with Mac Miller called “Around The World” a few months back. Today he unleashed the visuals for the song directed by Dan Meyers, also if you haven’t downloaded Boaz’s “Transition”download it here.
