What a difference a year makes. Last year Mac Miller hit the intimate S.O.B.’s to perform his first show in the city, but on Thursday night, the Pittsburgh rap phenomenon returned to the much-larger Irving Plaza to begin his Blue Slide Park Tour before a sold-out crowd.

Last night Mac Miller started off the Blue Slide Park tour after the show he took to twitter to announce that the 2nd single off Blue Slide Park will be “Smile Back“. We can expect a video coming in the next few weeks, maybe that will be his song at 1,000,000 followers? Guess we gotta wait and see!
The first stop of the Blue Slide Park tour was at Irving Plaza in NYC, although I was not in attendance last night I followed along in the live blog and was able to nab the set list. In addition I found some nasty videos on youtube, make sure you stop out at the Blue Slide Park tour when it comes to a city near you.

Last night Mac Miller kicked off the Blue Slide Park tour at Irving Plaza in NYC. From what everyone is saying the show was insane. During the show last night, for the first time ever Mac Miller played his acoustic guitar while on stage. He played the guitar while singing his song “Another Night” and luckily we found video. Expect Mac to do this at all the shows throughout the tour. More video from last nights show coming in a bit!
Last week, it became known that Mac Miller will be appearing on the remix to Maroon 5’s chart-topping song, “Moves Like Jagger” with Christina Aguilera. XXL recently chopped it with the song’s producer, Benny Blanco, to find out more details on the unexpected collaboration.
Blanco—who is responsible for some of the biggest pop singles over the last few years, including Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.” Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite,” among others—told XXL that it was his idea to put the 2011 XXL Freshman on the track.
“Well, here’s what happened. Uou know I’ve been down with Mac a while ’cause I’m down with [Mac's label] Rostrum [Records],” he says. “And so I was actually sitting with one of my homies, Zvi [Edelman, vice president of A&R at Atlantic], he’s the dude that signed Wiz [Khalifa]. We were listening to it. I was like, ‘Yo, who could we put on this song?’ ’Cause, we were trying to get someone to do a remix. I was like, ‘I know exactly who,’ because I just put Mac on another remix.”
Blanco said, at that point he reached out to Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine, who was all for it.

Fellow Pittsburgh rapper Beedie drops off some dope visuals for one of my favorite tracks from Beedie! Check it out.
It’s a new week & that means Varsity Squad is back with another leak from their “Varsity Tryouts” series. This week Beedie decided to unleash a stunning visual from his recent album The Beat Bully LP, directed by Glass Canon Films. They filmed the 2-part music video in New York City, which starts with “Cardiac Arrest” produced by Czientist of Germany, and transitions into “Beedie Sings The Blues” produced by Pittsburgh’s own DJ Vex. After receiving over 50,000 views on his last video, Beedie along with Jon Quest are hard at work completing the VS album, due out late this year.
